Sometimes Good Luck Looks Like a Day Outside

When people think of St. Patrick’s Day, they often think of green clothes, parades, or celebrating with friends.

Around here, we’d rather celebrate with green pine trees.

The days are getting a little longer, the seasons are beginning to shift, and it’s a great excuse to spend some time outside enjoying everything the mountains have to offer.

Sometimes the luckiest part of the day isn’t finding a four-leaf clover, it’s simply finding time to be in nature.

A Little More Green. A Little More Adventure.

Luck of the Pines isn’t about rushing to the finish line or checking another hike off your list.

It’s about enjoying the trail, sharing a few laughs, and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in a way that’s a little quieter, a little more scenic, and a lot more refreshing than spending the day indoors.

We’ll guide the hike, share a little mountain fun along the way, and give you a chance to enjoy one of our favorite times of year in Big Bear.

A Luck of the Pines Tradition

A little extra magic makes a family adventure even more memorable.

During the hike, younger hikers can take part in a mini scavenger hunt as they explore the forest. Before each hike, we’ll prepare a personalized shamrock and hide it along the trail for them to discover.

When they find their shamrock, they’ll receive a small prize to celebrate their hiking adventure.

And the grown-ups get a little luck of their own. Each adult will receive a small keepsake intended as a simple reminder of their St. Patrick’s Day hike in the mountains and the memories made along the way.

No leprechauns required. Just fresh air, pine trees, and a little extra fun for anyone who wants to celebrate the season with a little mountain fun..

A Few Things to Know

Luck of the Pines is designed to be a relaxed, playful experience where everyone can enjoy the trail at their own pace.
No hiking experience is needed. Just come ready to enjoy the forest and have a little fun.
The scavenger hunt is designed to add some extra excitement for kids, but there’s no pressure to complete every part of the activity.
Children should stay with their accompanying adults throughout the hike.
The trail includes natural terrain and may have uneven areas, roots, rocks, or changes in elevation.
Mountain weather can change quickly, so layers are always a good idea.
Comfortable, supportive hiking shoes are recommended.
Please arrive a few minutes early so we can get everyone checked in and ready before we hit the trail.
