International Women’s Day Hike
A morning on the trail celebrating the women who shape Big Bear.
Join us for a women-only guided hike through the forest, with stories of women whose courage, creativity, and determination have helped shape Big Bear.
A Morning to Celebrate Women
There’s something special about being on a trail with a group of women who come from different places, different backgrounds, and different walks of life.
International Women’s Day gives us a reason to gather, but you don’t need to arrive with a big agenda. Come walk, talk, listen, and enjoy some time in the mountains with other women.
Along the way, we’ll share stories of women connected to Big Bear, women whose lives, work, courage, and determination have helped shape this place.
It’s a simple way to celebrate the women who came before us, the women walking beside us, and the women who are still finding their way forward.
Stories Worth Hearing
The trail gives us a pretty good setting for conversation and storytelling.
As we make our way through the forest, we’ll stop along the way to hear stories about women who have been part of Big Bear’s history and community.
Some stories may surprise you, make you laugh, or leave you thinking about the women who have influenced your own life.
You don’t need to know anything about Big Bear’s history to enjoy the hike. Just come curious and ready to listen.
And of course, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the trail itself, take in the scenery, and get to know the other women sharing the morning with you.

You Belong Here

This hike is for women of all backgrounds, identities, ages, body types, abilities, and experiences.
You don’t have to be young, athletic, experienced, or naturally comfortable in groups. You don’t have to be a “hiker.” You don’t have to know anyone else who’s coming.
We welcome women of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and life experiences.
If you’ve ever looked at a group hike and wondered whether you’d fit in, we want you to know that you do.
Come as you are. We’ll meet you there.
